The Surgical Center's tradition of exceptional patient care began more than 20 years ago when it was founded in 1986 as one of the first freestanding outpatient surgery centers in Connecticut.

The Surgical Center was licensed by the State of Connecticut as an Ambulatory Surgical Center, certified by Medicare and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Now, as a hospital department we are accredited by Joint Commission an Accreditation of Health Care Organization (JCAHO). These credentials assure that the facility is compliant with the highest standards of health care and is equipped to meet any medical emergency that might arise during the course of surgery or performance of a procedure.
